Mia is a Registered Psychotherapist specializing in providing counselling and psychotherapy to individuals 18+ experiencing a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to: Burnout / Stress, Trauma and PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, challenging life transitions, and those experiencing a lost sense of meaning and identity. 
 
With a deep appreciation for the human experience, Mia understands that life can present many challenges. She believes that you are the expert of your life, and her role is to offer empathetic human connection along with clinical expertise to empower you to have self-compassion and resilience throughout life’s ups and downs. 
 
Mia’s utilizes a holistic treatment approach that is evidence-based & trauma-informed, integrating: Mindfulness Based Somatic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Mindful Self-Compassion, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). 
 
Therapy with Mia will often involve developing and nurturing the mind-body connection through mindfulness, nervous system regulation, self-compassion and exploration of what it means to live in alignment with your values. She also has a passion in sharing psycho-education to help you in understanding your experience and the purpose of skills shared in therapy.
 
She completed her B.A. in Psychology at the University of Ottawa, followed by her M.A. in Counselling & Spirituality at Saint Paul University/University of Ottawa. Subsequently, Mia has received additional training in MSC, EMDR and Somatic Therapy.
