Even the strongest relationships can experience emotional injuries. Esther is a social worker/ psychotherapist with over three decades of experience who works with couples on building trust, connection, and emotional safety.
Clinical Social Worker
Esther is an experienced clinical social worker with over three decades of practice across community services, child protection, mental health, hospital settings, and wellness programs. Her clinical background includes work at the Ottawa Cancer Centre and the Ottawa Heart Institute’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, where she also introduced the first therapeutic yoga programs to support patients in their recovery.
She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Her approach is grounded in extensive postgraduate training, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Trauma Informed Somatic Movement Training, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Symptom Management. Esther is also a certified yoga instructor, integrating mindbody practices into her therapeutic work.
At Resiliency Clinic, Esther works with couples and individuals, with a focus on relationships. Esther strives to create a space where couples feel safe, supported, and understood. She believes deeply in the importance of secure attachment within intimate relationships and recognizes that even the strongest partnerships can experience unintended emotional injuries. Her work focuses on helping couples repair these wounds by fostering trust, compassion, connection, and emotional safety.
