With a direct clinical experience in providing individual therapy to adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and relationship issues.
Sloane is a counselling intern at the Resiliency Clinic. She believes that insight, introspection and a willingness to hear a new perspective is key to personal growth and transformation. Sloane takes a holistic, client-centred, integrative approach to provide a safe space for clients to learn about themselves.
Sloane completed a BsC. at Carleton University in Psychology, with a concentration in health psychology. She has direct clinical experience in providing individual therapy to adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and relationship issues. She has experience helping clients regulate moods when they have been diagnosed with GAD, BPD, OCD, ADHD, orASD. Sloane is currently completing a research paper focusing on MBCT and MBSR (mindfulness approaches), and typically implements mindfulness techniques with clients.
Typically leaning towards humanistic, holistic, process-oriented and psychodynamic techniques and approaches, Sloane aids her clients towards their goals. She pulls techniques and ideas from both cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).
Sloane is in the final semester of her MA program at Saint Paul University.
