In therapy, McKenna uses an integrative approach in the care of each of her clients. She employs a person-centered approach with elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion-focused, psychodynamic, positive psychology, and self-compassion. Clients will be encouraged to achieve their goals and utilize their strengths throughout the therapeutic process.
McKenna has worked in the field of mental health and community services for several years. She has interacted with people from all walks of life experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, personality disorders, interpersonal issues, trauma, grief, and cognitive and physical disabilities. McKenna welcomes those from the LGBTQIA2S+ community to her care.

She believes that self-transformation begins through intrapersonal understanding and past experiences. By providing clients with an open and non-judgmental space, it allows them to embark on their journey of greater self-awareness.
McKenna holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Ottawa and Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is licensed under the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and is currently a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
