Sarah in an intern at the Resiliency Clinic and currently completing her Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, among other ongoing professional development and learning. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Specializing in Psychology from the University of Ottawa. She aspires to be a registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as well as a Certified Canadian Counsellor. Sarah is bilingual: fluent in both English and Arabic.

Sarah uses a person-centred and solution-focused approach in therapy. She employs Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), holistic counselling, positive psychology, and mindfulness-based techniques. She strives to offer her clients an open and comfortable, empathetic and non-judgemental space to be able to establish a therapeutic alliance and work together towards achieving positive outcomes.

Sarah has a background in Mental health and Community Services. She has over 5 years of experience working with vulnerable populations including adults, youth, and families. She has a rich experience working with Canadians, first and second generation Canadians, newcomers, immigrants, International Workers and Professionals, International Students, Refugees and Asylum Seekers within Canada. She has experience working with those experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, interpersonal issues, settlement and resettlement issues, identity crisis, and culture shock. Sarah is also a Crisis Youth Counsellor who works to support youth who are at risk of homelessness, suicidal ideation, and other mental health disorders.
Sarah is a compassionate counsellor dedicated to understanding her clients and supporting them towards achieving their desired goals, customizing therapeutic modalities as she assesses client’s goals and desired focus.
